In a recent interview, I hinted at our upcoming Creator Programme built by creators, for creators. This right now is perhaps the development I am most excited about for Kick, and I would love to share some more information with you about it.
As many of you may know, our plan is to release a game-changing Creator Programme that not only offers partners an unrivalled 95/5 revenue split in their favour, but that also pays creators hourly for their streaming efforts.
That’s right, an hourly wage paid to creators regardless of if they have 1 or 100,000 live viewers.
This is something that has never been done by a streaming platform, especially due to the fact that it will exist alongside our subscriber programme which is already live.
We are doing this to change the game and empower creators to pursue the careers that they want to, providing them with more financial security as they stream on Kick.
The fundamentals of our programme are simple and take into account several factors. Creators will get paid for each hour they stream, with a formula determining the amount paid based on a) The number of hours streamed, b) Average viewers and c) Viewer demographics and engagement. Not only is payment per hour guaranteed, but creators have the option to have this issued daily.
You can choose to get paid via our payment processor, Stripe on a set day of each month or get paid on the same day after your stream ends in cryptocurrency (currently Bitcoin or Ethereum).
While the programme initially will have a manual application approval process, we must stress that everyone with a verifiable brand is eligible regardless of viewership or followers.
This is part of our mission to continue working towards financial security for all streamers of all sizes, ensuring that no-one is left behind as all too often in our industry it is the smaller streamers who are forgotten.
We hope that pursuing this model can support and develop creators, empowering them to reach their true potential and continue doing what they love.
Combined with other recent positive changes, we are extremely confident that Kick will continue growing as new fans flock to the site to watch their favourite streamers and perhaps even try out streaming for themselves.
