The Doomsday’s Train
A Rekah ft. Dymussaga’s song has already offered the losing-all-hopes vibe even since we finished reading its title — KERETA TERAKHIR DARI PALMERAH. It is as simple as you become a train passenger, alone, sitting on the off side rear of the seat while the sky turning black and starting to falling down.
I would love to see this song as a main soundtrack of an dystopian movie scene — the album (Kiamat; meaning- Doomsday or Apocalypse) this song belongs to.
“Aku melihat riuh rendah kota meleleh jadi iklan
Kasbon-kasbon kian julang. Tak ada jalan buat pulang
Dompetku terlalu lengang dan napasku tercekik hutang
Kapan aku bisa pulang?Malam lahap senin-jumat. Minggu lari terlalu cepat
Datang kalut, pulang larut. Tekuk tubuh demi perut
Tak ada waktu buat nekat. Hidup lingkap disandera tenggat
Kapan aku bisa pulang?”
So hopeless; sharp lyrics; and of course dark.
— And the train is still moving, it’s 11 PM. You just finished the work day and are thinking about that longtime unvisited and faraway hometown.
