6 fun and safe ways to travel green around Fort Collins
- Take the bus. Community transportation always is a good way to cut back on emissions. Think about it. If there are 20 people on a bus, that is around 20 less cars polluting the road. Now multiply that by all the buses that run in Fort Collins per day. That’s a lot! Transfort and Max busses in Fort Collins run daily. CSU Rams travel for free, just bring your CSU-ID card! Max buses are free for everyone!
2. Ride a bike. Fort Collins is one of the most bike friendly communities in the country. Always be careful of other vehicles and surroundings because even if you are running late somewhere, traveling safely and on time is what’s most important. Fort Collins is beautiful with our gorgeous view of Horsetooth and the foothills, and has many bike lanes for safe traveling.
3. Walking. Walking is a fun, and safe way to get to Fat Shack, or Krazy Karl’s! It’s great exercise and helps cut back on our global footprint (unless you have an all electric car). Also, It is a good way to burn off those recent calories!
4. Carpool. It is always fun to go places with friends. It’s just a plus that we pollute less while doing it.
5. Board. Learning to skate a board is both fun and safe. Skateboards, longboards, and electric longboards are all fun and safe ways to tracvel around Fort Collins. For more safety, Helmets, as well as knee, wrist, and elbow pads can protect us incase we fall.
6. E-bikes and electric mopeds. Most of you can’t currently afford an electric car. However, electric mopeds and E-bikes are a fun, safe way to travel green around town! they are affordable, safe, zero emissions, and more fun to drive than a car!
