It is a throne of Grace, not Judgement.

In the book of Hebrews, we have a beautiful description of what God’s presence has for us all when we come to Him.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Who can come? Anyone in need of God’s grace, mercy and help. Can you think of someone who doesn’t need God’s grace, mercy, and help? I can’t, so it must include everyone.

How should we come? God says we can come with confidence or boldness, into His presence. Whoa, wait a second Ed, does that mean murderers, adulterers, liars, cheaters etc. can come? God is the one who sets up the qualifications and if you need His grace, mercy, and help, then you’re qualified to come to Him.

How are we to come to God? With boldness or confidence. You aren’t coming to be judged, condemned, punished or rejected because it isn’t a throne or place of judgment but the one of grace. All you will ever receive from God when you come to Him is grace, mercy, and help.

We can approach God with boldness not based on what we have done but based on His character and His promises to us that if we need His grace, mercy, and help we can come 24/7.
