HundredDAO had held an AMA with the fantastic P2E game EDENSOL in Telegram on May 20th. The essence has been sorted out in this article.

Host: Yan, CMO of HundredDAO

Guest: Mr. Ignas Masiokas, CEO/Co-Founder of Golem House

Yan: Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

Ignas: Well, to make it short — Hi, my name’s Ignas, I’m one of the two founders of Golem House game development studio in Vilnius, an ex-theoretical physicist, a lifetime gamer, a competitive DotA and Dota 2 player and a massive foodie. That should paint a pretty good picture :)

Yan: yes, that really does. We are all very nice to meet you. And I think we will learn a lot from your sharing today. Now let’s start from the first question: Could you briefly tell us about Edensol and what it aims to do?

Ignas: Sure. So when starting to make Edensol, we always had two main goals: one — bringing the expansive RPG progress to blockchain space which we feel still has only simpler, single-layered games that do not hold your attention for too long. And secondly — to make RPGs accessible to many regular players. Which means making a game that is equally accessible to both a new RPG player and a genre veteran. That’d be a fair way to put it.

Yan: Would you please share with us what are your current achievements and what is in store for the near future?

Ignas: Alright. So right now especially in the current environment, I’d say that our biggest achievement (which sounds a bit strange even saying it) is launching and updating the demo quickly in development terms and now being able to focus on launching the full version so that our players can see at what speed the game will be growing.

Constant updates and new features are vital for any long-lasting game and we really feel that that is not only really lacking in the current blockchain gaming space, but that making that happen is our real strength as a game developing studio.

Yan: Currently, there are many Play2Earn Metaverse games in the crypto space. How do you differentiate and stand out in terms of what you have to offer?

Ignas: First, I’d say that the game was not made just for P2E. As game developers we’ve been seeing people earning an income in many earlier MMOs for what is decades now, so when creating a game where you could trade items for real currency we just approached it the same way as existing and successful games and paid equal attention to making a game people will want to play first.

Second — I think is development speed and vision for the future — many games now struggle adding onto themselves due to very delicate balance needed for that genre or being locked into one P2E-focused mechanic, while we have a great RPG plan ahead of us — castles, lands, clans, group dungeons and much more, that will allow us to constantly keep adding new content and ways to interact with the game.

Yan: Could you tell us more about your team and their background?

Ignas: So right now our international team is up to 15 full-time members, along around as many other specialized contractors for various things that do not make sense to develop in-house. As a company we were always focused on making loot ARPGs (for those curious — power-progress games based on randomly generated loot), however the more sizable part of our development experience comes from mobile games.

And because of that we are a team that honestly believes in making games that can be understood at a glance, but still have a skill ceiling for those wanting to invest their time and get better at the game. And we are confident that with the right amount of work, even a game that may seem more simple at first, can start feeling even more rewarding without any unnecessary clutter.

And that allows us to continuously expand Edensol without running into size/performance issues, having to suddenly hire 100 developers or any other roadblocks that may slow down many other projects focusing on quite unnecessary complexity.

Yan: How can your users benefit from the collectible NFTs within your P2E metaverse?

Ignas: Having a hero will allow you to start embarking on your journey in Edensol, which will bring numerous spoils to those doing it before anyone else. And that is not just earning the $NSOL token, but also finding summoning stones for new and rare player Heroes for your own party or for others, leveling up for more power, finding pet eggs and other items that you will be able to sell to other players, participating in leaderboards/tournaments for even more lucrative rewards, starting to collect item NFTs to become even more powerful yourself and just as importantly — be the first to list those powerful drops that you will not be using on the marketplace for newly coming players.

We want to make sure that we reward our early adopters with opportunities to get a strong hold in Edensol and its future.

Yan: We know $NSOL is an important token in Edensol ecosystem, we’d like to know How can we earn these $NSOL tokens other than buying it & how will it help the community to provide voting power for new changes to enhance the development of #Edensol?

Ignas: Right. $NSOL is going to be won by advancing through the game and winning battles, tournaments, leaderboards, later won by clans in PvP, guild raids and other features. We will be rewarding the players for interacting with the universe, and the better you are at something and the more experience you have doing it, the more your income will reflect that.

Now as for voting power, developers are always incentivized to keep adjusting the game for the players, however at the beginning of each title the main design must be the first priority. Now in the future we will continue having just one token, so i can say that once we are done with the main design and start picking what to do next, voting power will inevitably come with it.

Yan: How are you planning Edensol community?

Ignas: Apart from the critical mass of the launch players that will initially be built from the blockchain community and for which we are marketing with KOLs, doing amas, airdrops, various contests, and many other events to give our players a wide variety of ways to engage with the project, we are also looking at regular game industry user acquisition, starting with the mobile players.

They are used to games that already have transactions, and us only having one token instead of f2p and p2w currencies that will also mean that they will be buying their pay to win items and the needed $NSOL token off other players and increasing its value. However attracting those players only works once you have a full game, therefore we are now eagerly waiting for summer when we can move into phase two of Edensol community growth.

Yan: We all can see now the market is not positive while web3 is still a hot topic, will you share us What are Edensol plans for 2022 ? Are there any plans for Edensol for Web3?

Ignas:Well, the most genuine answer is without a doubt many more features and the full game. I realize that may be an easy answer, but this is what the space is really lacking right now. Content and a constant stream of new things.

Now the Web 3 question is very interesting.

We are really excited about the possibilities of Web3, however believe that the concept still needs a little time to be fully implemented in game projects. As I see it, as a developer, you must keep minimal autonomy.

For example imagine you own a car, and your neighbors own cars. But you can not press a button and pick adjustments to that car that would improve it without the years of engineering experience to make all that truly work. And so the developer has to keep making some choices.

But if we try to imagine an ideal web3 space, I feel that this should mean that the developer must also have some sort of accountability. Not cutting a team after one mistake, cause mistakes happen and because moving projects between teams can take years. But for example if developer gets voted out several updates in a row, they have run a contest for another studio — a contest with an outcome again decided by the players with their voting power, looking at the developer portfolios and so forth. I feel that this could be a really exciting future giving the control to the player’s hands, however as I said, all that sounds pretty surreal right now.

There is a long path to be explored with best practices, mistakes we do not yet know we may be making and so forth. But web3 is the future — one way or another.

Qustions from HundredDAO community members

User: I am interested to invest in your project. When and where can I buy your tokens? Is it already listed exchanges?

Ignas: The answer is that we are now selling the first Genesis NFT Warrior collection on May 28th, and the various launchpad token sales will start some weeks after that.

I genuinely invite you to join Edensol Telegram channel to see all the updates, and at the same time I should say, that in the spirit of this AMA for the HundredDAO community, the first 10 people to join our telegram will get the WL spots for our first NFT collection.

You can claim it by opening a ticket in the server.

User: Is Project functional for mobile devices? Or are you planning to design an app based on Android & iOS in the future?

Ignas: Hi Mahn :) Being a studio with PC and mobile game development experience, we have chosen developing the game on Unity game engine. Which means that once the game is set for the blockchain audience’s critical mass, we will be quite easily to port it to both mobile AND PC, allowing for a much wider audience to also get involved with the project.

So really excited for that, but for the full game launch this summer we will be releasing a WebGL build for browser first, to get iti into the hands of the players as soon as possible.

User: According to the roadmap, what are your most important next priorities? Does your team have enough funds and strong community to achieve those milestones?

Ignas: That is a yes, Quirk! So as I mentioned we are a pretty lean and still small team, which makes us agile in allowing us to continue on our own terms. And so right now the further development is our main focus and we will keep developing the game either way — and believe that with time, we will be able to more and more prove to players that this is a project that is there to keep growing.

And as for the features, I will say that the clan warfare and PVP is by far the most impactful one on the way — it will change how the entire community interacts with the game and will allow for many more micro ecosystems between the players themselves to really get involved into the world of Edensol.

User: Do you allow suggestions and feedback from the community? Are we allowed in decision making, do you put community into consideration?

Ignas: Hi Jack, and that is a hard YES! Allow is just the wrong word! We are a small development studio that always wants to make the best experience for the players, and while they may not always immediately know how something can be achieved, listening to all feedback is EXTREMELY important for any successful development.

So you are already very welcome to give any feedback you may have via our social channels as we are always monitoring them, but as the game launches, we will also be implementing various feedback forms and forums where the community can efficiently communicate with the developers in shaping the Edensol world as they see fit. That’s the whole idea of governance, after all — even if not entirely there yet.
