I would absolutely use a serendipity service that locates things out of my comfort zone.

For me, inspiration often comes from unexpected places. I’d like to see those unexpected places be suggested to me.

The only solution in discovery services such as Spotify, Netflix etc I’ve come across are ‘tastemakers’, where humans curate content based on their preferences.

I’d recommend a book called ‘Intertwingled’ that delves into complex information architecture and touches on the success of Netflix. They created complex networks of micro-tags that amalgamate into numerous micro-genres that can reference each other. This allows to give more specific and genre crossing recommendations.
