I captured this photo last week during our trip to Las Vegas. It’s been 14 years since our last visit, even though it’s about a four-hour drive from where we live. We preferred staying in downtown Las Vegas rather than the strip. It had a low-key vibe when we last visited compared to the busy Las Vegas strip.

The Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere. Lined with iconic casinos, neon lights, and a massive LED canopy, it hosts lively entertainment, including free nightly light shows. Street performers, live music, and a zip line, SlotZilla, add to the energetic ambiance. It’s a nostalgic contrast to the modern Strip, showcasing the history of Las Vegas while offering a unique and dynamic entertainment experience.

The vibes were electric, especially with the Superbowl just a week away. But, I was a bit overwhelmed by all the changes. It surprised me to see parents bringing their kids to the LED canopy light shows while there were street performers in not-so-kid-friendly costumes? Well, that’s Vegas for you.

The area had its share of homelessness, and the scent was distinct, with smokers around. Security officers and police were highly visible. Before heading to our room, we had to scan our hotel key in front of a security officer…
