South Korea’s ‘Low Rider’ Tank Is the Ultimate Mountain Fighting Vehicle
War Is Boring

It is interesting that the Turkish variant omits some of the “bells and whistles” and their estimated unit price is $5.5M, a full $3M less than the K2. The Altay uses K2 turret, gun, hull, armor and suspension technology (sans hydropneumatic) but is not incorporating the autoloader and millimeter band radar radar technology. It appears to me that the Altay is better suited to second world countries who don’t need/want those technological extras.
