Going in Circles — A List of Related Stories

What started as microfiction writing exercises has grown into a number of related stories that have decided to be a bridge between the sequel to my first novel, Yours to Keep or Throw Aside, and the novel I’m working on right now, Waylaid on the Road to Nowhere.

Each piece is a brief snippet of a couple characters’ lives. They’re not in chronological order, and none of the pieces are essential to understanding either novel, or even really to understanding the other short stories — although the microfiction stories, as a whole, tell the story of a group of intertwined people:

Reggie, who will feature prominently in the sequel to my first novel

Stella, Reggie’s girlfriend

Curtis, Reggie’s best friend

Rana, Curtis’s sister

Big Ed, Rana’s boyfriend

The Fox, the villain of Waylaid on the Road to Nowhere

I’m not sure where these stories are headed, or what they’ll reveal about everyone. I’d love to hear feedback about what you want to know about the characters and what you think needs to be explicitly revealed instead of just hinted about.

And of course, make sure to read Waylaid as I post the chapters here on Medium.
