Eadred The Elder

Eadred (Edred) the Elder was a man with an interesting history during a time of great turmoil in England. During the the year of 946, he was able to take over control of all the lands in Northumbria. He also had a guaranteed control over the Scots who loyally claimed that they would do all that he asked.

A great battle ensued when the previously king of Norway try to set up operations in Northumbria. King Eadred would not tolerate this action and he responded harshly by launching a vicious attack. The campaign proved to be successful and allowed him to remain king for many years.
