I’m Never Upset…..Here’s Why

The other day, my mom asked me what things upset me. After she asked me this simple question, I had realized that nothing truly makes me feel upset inside. She mentioned that she wanted to ask me the question because she rarely sees me upset, grumpy, or in a bad mood. I had not realized I had developed this part of my personality without thinking about it until my mom mentioned this to me.

I am very interesting. When I was younger, the smallest things would upset me. Not being allowed to ride my bike to the park upset me. Not being able to get a Quiznos sub upset me. As I matured, I started to realize that there were a lot of things that I was taking for granted in this world. The simple fact that I am capable of typing this blog post and I am able to post it online for all of you to see is crazy. If our grandparents wanted to tell the world something, they may have had to walk door to door with handwritten letters containing their message.

Not only do most people take what the internet can do for granted, but they also simply take most things in life, including health, for granted. The odds of being a human are unbelievable.

YOU ARE A HUMAN.

Just by being a human, you have already won. You could have been a shark, a whale, a bird, a tree, a plant, you name it. But for an important reason, you are a human. I find it stunning to believe that so many people take being a human for granted. This is why it is impossible to upset me. It does not matter what happens or what obstacles I face. I know for a fact that I am truly blessed to be a healthy human being on Earth during this time, when the internet has changed the landscape of how people can achieve success. Nothing negative that happens in life can even come close to matching the importance of being a human on Earth. People like Tony Robbins and Gary Vaynerchuk talk about being grateful for what you have, and this is the base of being happy and doing the most with what you are given in life. While people that don’t realize how lucky they are are worried about what their angry friend thinks about them, how many followers they have on Instagram, and how many likes they got on their latest Facebook post, I am focused on changing people’s mindsets, expressing what goes on in my mind, and giving myself the best chance to impact as many lives as possible because I know I only have one shot, and I am incredibly lucky to be a human.

Do something. You are a human for a reason.
