Not Getting Results? Here’s Why.

Everyone has goals and results they want to achieve. Some are bigger than others, and some are more realistic than others. However, there are a lot of things I see that people that actually achieve their goals have in common, that the people that do not are missing.

So many people, especially on January 1st, are more motivated than ever to accomplish their new goals, and to be honest, everyone feels motivated on January 1st. The difference between the successful people and the people that are not successful is that the people that are successful have this unmatchable fire and desire to accomplish their goal. They would literally do ANYTHING to achieve that goal, whether it is not going out with friends on Friday, sacrificing sleep, and even sacrificing time used to “relax” or “wind down”.

“If you are really determined to accomplish your goal, you would not even waste your time telling others about your goal because you would be too busy pursuing your goal, and your goal would be too clear through your daily actions that everyone would know exactly what your goal is.”

I see so many people say they want to do this or that (big goals), but their actions are not backing up what they say they are going to accomplish. If you are really determined to accomplish your goal, you would not even waste your time telling others about your goal because you would be too busy pursuing your goal, and your goal would be too clear through your daily actions that everyone would know exactly what your goal is. Keep this in mind: If you aren’t working, someone else is. That is the person that you will be looking up to in the future if you do not get on your feet, and start walking.

“If you aren’t working, someone else is.”

I see countless people that are disappointed with the results they have been getting, and the point of this article is not to give you a magic pill that will automatically guarantee that you will achieve all your goals, but the point of this article is for you to be honest with yourself, and ask yourself: “Do I really deserve this goal if I live everyday the way I lived today?” If the answer to this question is no, then I do not understand why you would be surprised or sad that you never accomplished your goal, because in all honesty, you deserved to never accomplish it. At the end of the day, if you aren’t willing to work for the goal you want to achieve, do not complain about not having it.

“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” -Colin Powell

With that said, the question I ask people when they say they want something is: 1. What exactly are your goals? 2. What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve them? The first question is so easy to answer for every person on the planet because it is all they think about: Losing 25 pounds, getting a raise, the list goes on and on. But when I ask the second question, most people are stumped and make up an answer on the spot, because they have never though about that side of the equation. Remember 1+1=2. You need both ones for the equation to equal 2. The last time I checked, I am pretty sure 1+0 does not equal 2.

I will leave you with the second question I ask everyone with a goal: What are you willing to sacrifice to accomplish this goal?
