Abstract Feelings

Abstract Feeling

Im a very big believer in the idea of doing whatever you feel like. What I mean by that is, if you pick your camera up and you think “I want to do portraits” then thats what you should do. Even if you end up taking self portraits. I woke up this morning uncertain about what I was feeling but I knew I wanted to do photography. Recently I’ve been battling with photographers block and I have found myself in a little bit of a slump — unable to motivate or produce the photo quality that I expect of myself. This had me worried, however today I realised that one of the things that gets to me which was contributing to my slump is whenever I go out, I expect to produce amazing work, but in reality that is never going to be the case. Sometimes you’ll head out with an idea, and come back and the images you saw in your mind didn’t transpire across to your photos. I need to learn to be ok with that, it will allow me to grow and learn more moving forward. I think that is an important lesson to realise and I’m glad I learned that today!

I was still unsure of what I wanted to capture but after a few minutes walking around and looking about I started seeing some awesome shapes and lines. The end result was a series of abstract photos. Scroll down to view!
