"Everything rest on the youth"

Philo Cohen is a 21-year-old woman that realized that she should do something.
Born in France and living in Brooklyn since 2014, she is aware of her privilege of leaving in a western country. And because of that, she claims that's it's our duty, as citizens of free countries, to use our freedom to change our society.
During her studies at Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, she felt the need to “do something” when she noticed the lack of women featuring in museums exhibitions all around the world, including in New York City.
In 2015, she started to spotlight the work of her classmates in a project that she called Spicewomen's. Today, the project grew into a website and a magazine that is printed once a year. The idea remains the same: connect and support woman artists making the art's world more inclusive.
Philo is the editor-in-chief of Spicewomen and even thou she has a positive view of the changes happing all around in our society, she knows that the future belongs to the youth. The second printed issue show stories about young women in visual arts, cinema, dance, fashion, theater, photography and culinary that are doing something.
Philo Cohen gives me this interview Brooklyn Musem. Enjoy!
