A guy just transcribed 30 years of for-rent ads. Here’s what it taught us about housing prices
Michael Andersen

Michael, kudos for the article! Eric Fischer is a hero. But let me complete your narrative: if developers had freedom and property rights supply would be abundant and homes affordable.

It is freaking risky and costly to develop, society hates you and mandates that you only do your art within a tiny box (e.g. height restrictions). Frankly money is sometimes the only redeeming reward in that profession, because City and Community want to turn even the best development into a democratic Frankenstein, fuck future residents and extort your investors in the process.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
