Absolutely agree. When I retired at 48 I changed my diet from meat eating to vegetarian. As a retiree I accompanied my wife on a course on medicinal plants in the south of France. Both my wife and her hostess were not happy with my coming. My wife regarded me as a nuisance. Her hostess considered an executive from ITT as something close to a devil.
I had a great time visiting vineyards as my interest in medicinal plants was limited. I found the vegetarian diet of my hostess very acceptable and after a 3 week stay proposed to my wife that we adopt a vegetarian diet.
I felt good and started to read about nutrition and especially the gut. I got involved in Asian exercise Qigong where the gut was considered a second brain. I was skeptical about this but fascinated by the inhabitants of the gut.
That was 35 years ago and I have never had any intestinal problems although I had many as a meat eater. One swallow doesn’t make a summer but I would never turn to meat eating for multiple reasons not least that of pollution.
