Beautiful. Luckily no spare tire. Originally I chased excitement, money and power. Retired at 48 when I realized what I wanted was freedom. Climbing the management structure of large corporations was exciting at first but boring afterwards. I had what I called the cardinal complex — no desire to wear the crown.
Now at 84 after a long illness which made me fearful I am happier than I have ever been. Fear is an emotion with which I had little experience. I made many mistakes. On waking up I was ecstatic then angry at time and money lost. Then I realized I must learn from this expensive experience. Gratitude is the attitude GITA. Enjoy what life has to offer. A garden. Meditation. Pleasing my wife and son.
