11 reasons to attend Prom

Secondary school prom was bad? Didn’t have a chance to go for prom? A second chance at a do-over.

Many students who attended prom during secondary school didn’t have fun. And there are those who didn’t have the chance to. Now we are giving a chance to make things right, a second chance at redemption in youth for $65/person.

2. You will have less time to meet up after graduation.

Remember how you seem to have less time to meet your friends as you went from being a freshie to a senior? After graduation, it will be difficult to meet up with those groups of friends. Seize this opportunity to gather together for a night of fun and entertainment!

3. The only night where all 9 Diplomas gather in The Grand Ballroom.

As mentioned in point 2, meet ups will be virtually impossible. Even so for the males heading to national service. Prom will be the only time to relinquish this friendship with schoolmates from the other Diplomas.

4. A reason for a staycation. Why not?

Most of us will probably be travelling abroad for grad trips. But for those who are not, Prom is the perfect reason to organize a staycation with your close friends for a quick recharge. Besides, one can never have too many staycays!

5. We all want to look good and feel good.

When students think of prom night, no doubt a lot of effort goes into preparing for Prom. The end results will be priceless to justify the time and effort. Youth is a blessing to embrace while we have the energy and time.

6. Friendships. Prom is all about our friends.

In all honesty, the only conviction for attending Prom is because of our friends. Hence when our friends don’t go, neither do we. Grab this opportunity to celebrate, reminisce and party for a night to remember!

7. A social event for the seniors to reminisce our 3 years in NYP.

Boring lectures, tutorials where we piss our lecturers off, the tons of camps, activities and events in SBM; project presentations, north canteen lunch, koufu dinner, library mugging session, ICAs, exams and more! We’ve breezed through 3 years in the blink of an eye, we have grown and matured. Let us take this chance to laugh at our memories.

8. Pictures, pictures, pictures. It is all about lasting memories.

When you have a photo booth that prints unlimited pictures, no one will judge you for spamming because it will be a waste not to. In fact, why not make a Prom album to keep your pictures and reminisce the moments many years down the road? How often in life do we regret the things that we didn’t do instead of the things that we did?

9. A chance to have fun with your babes/bros all in 12 hours.

Prom screams the perfect 12 hours to dress up, head out and have a splendid time with your babes/bros for uninterrupted fun. No curfew, no thinking of what to eat, where to go or what to do. We will provide the entertainment, all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy.

10. A final chapter to close your journey in Nanyang Polytechnic.

With so much being said, the main objective for organizing Prom Night 2016 is to have a fun time together. Welcome orientation was the opening chapter, Prom night will provide the closure. Graduation is really just the icing on the cake.

11. YOU!

You are the reason to go for Prom! Your friends and cliques would only attend because of you. And without you, there would be no Prom! You are the reason Prom is planned. So what are you waiting for still?
