Traveling for business can often be a tedious task. Depending on your business needs, you may find yourself packing multiples suitcases and bags for what seems like a small trip to have everything you need. But when packing for a business trip, there are many items that the business can forget that they’ll need along on their trip. Following are five important items to remember on your next business outing.

Casual Clothes:

While preparing for your trip, you’ll be thinking about what you’ll need to wear to impress your boss, clients and coworkers alike. But, one often forgot about item is casual wear for when you’re not on the job. People are most comfortable flying and lounging around a hotel in casual clothes and these are important to include on your trip. As well, dinner plans may involve a more casual setting than your business suit or blouse.

Toiletries:

When heading out on a business trip for multiple days, toiletries are often a forgotten necessity. Make a list and remember anything in your repertoire of toiletries from a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair products, shaving gear and makeup. If flying, it is important to remember the flight restrictions on certain liquids being limited now to 3 ounces as well. If needing these items on the trip, some hotels do carry toiletries but they charge a premium for them.

Work supplies:

Thinking ahead for how you’ll be working while traveling is an important piece to consider. If traveling, you may not have access to an office on your downtime or maybe you’ll plan to work from your hotel. If that’s the case, you’ll want to bring along items like writing utensils, notebooks and paper clips to help with any work that you’ll potentially be doing on the trip. On top of being prepared, it is never fun to ask a coworker or client for any of these items that you could have prepared ahead.

Travel documents:

What seems like a given item to pack can often be forgotten or taken for granted. A lot of travelers choose to have travel items like airline tickets, hotel confirmations and rental car documents on their smartphones. If that is the case, make sure to flag the emails or documents for quick and easy access. If you bring along paper copies, keep them on or near you at all times and filed separately away from all of your other documents for quick access.

Staying connected:

Most business folks and travelers want to stay connected to their work and personal lives through their smartphone. When traveling, remember to bring along both car and wall chargers for your phone. At the airport and on your days away from home, you’ll likely be spending more time on your phone and it will likely need more charging than usual.

With these helpful items along with you on your next business trip, your time away from home will likely be more at ease.
