The moral law is God given Confucius

Culture: 1 — Latin: cultura, agriculture, (cult); cultus. colere: to till the ground; cultivate, inhabit, dwell. 2-Sanskrit, Sanskriti: kriti- creation, well made, well structured, perfectly put together ( Sanskritam= Sanskrit language). 3 — Tamil, South India: panbaadu- the maturity of the way. 4 — Arabic: salafia, salafa: to go forward; (salah: prayer-related?) Chinese Culture: Soul in Chinese- no religious connotation as in the West-it often shares the meaning with heart/mind. Chinese cultural tradition seeks unity and parity of all things, including body and soul along with heart and mind.

8 — Bahasa, Indonesia, kebudayaan, daya, energy. — Is n’t it beautiful? Culture means energy! And this energy comes from the heart/mind, kathati in Bahasa, hati means “heart”, the centre of us human beings; and “ahat” means “inside” and certainly not outside. 9 Bangla, culture, -desh, tamaddun, tahjib.

Korean culture (and other cultures which were influenced by Confucian thought, such as Japan and Vietnam), is a “father” culture: aboji (abonim, a formal term for father). Shi, poetry in Korea, originally came from China and the first poems written by Koreans were written in Chinese characters. Russian: culture= worship of the light.

Art, Culture and Spirituality, Swami Atmaramananda etc.

Art must be in touch with nature- and wherever that touch is gone, Art degenerates — yet it (Art) must be above nature…Art is — representing the beautiful. There must be art in everything. The mainspring of the strength of every race lies in spirituality, and the death of that race begins the day that spirituality wanes and materialism gains ground.

It is culture which withstands shocks, not a simple mass of knowledge…There must come culture into the blood…It is spiritual culture and ethical culture alone that can change wrong racial Swami tendencies for the better…The finer the organism, the higher the culture.

Swami Vivekananda

“No limit may be set to art, neither is there any craftsman that is fully master of his craft.”

The Instruction of Ptahotep, Egypt

“The world importance of nations cannot be measured in the long run in terms of the men they butcher in battle, of the wealth of which they rob others, or of the destruction they bring to civilization.

K owledge, Beauty and Culture:

“It has to be reckoned in terms of the knowledge, beauty and culture which they contribute to man`s possessions in his journey towards self-realization. In the strength, tenacity, and resilience they develop in defeating the forces of disruption and annihilation, in the vitality they conserve in order to equip man with a higher destiny.” Dr. K.M. Munshi:

The Arts: 1 — Sanskrit: a part of the whole, to join. Silpa, shilp, crafts, namely creativity, dexterity and techniques in both, mind and hands “beyond explanation and therefore a subject of wonder”.

In India, and not only in India, from Vedic times on, there has never been made a sharp distinction between the crafts and so-called “high art”. The artisan had an equal status as the official artist. 2 — Arabic: sina’a, Al Sa’ni- God, the Creator, Allah. Fann: ? (a). Art (b). The making and doing of anything well and correctly. If one’s moral character is not high, one’s art will also lack style.” Wen Chenming, China

Creation, create: Latin, create, lit. to cause to grow. Ceres : Italian Goddess of growth. Latin: creare: to make, produce, to cause to grow. Where there is creation, there is progress; where there is no creation, there is no progress, know the nature of creation. Where there is creation, there is joy. Where there is no creation, there is no joy, know the nature of joy; where there is joy, there is the Infinite, there is no joy in the finite.

Chandogya Upanishad

“Each act of creation is born of a subtle interchange or clashing encounter of inner and outer.

This art involves “A condition of complete simplicity costing not less than everything.”

T.S. Eliot: Little Gidding, in Four Quartets

If you accept the fact that fate is really created by your own self, then you are in the current, and then, even if the external situation is bad, you have the spring flowing within. ..You are joyful, you are lifted up by the river. God himself can do nothing against man’s choice of how he will play his part in the drama of human destiny.”

C. G. Jung:

Creativity is intrinsic to the process of human or meta-biological evolution.” Jonas Salk

Creativity is built into my higher Self, and into the Self of each and every human being on this beautiful planet. And each and every brain of us human beings is programmed for balance, harmony, compassion and kindness.

“Why are creativity and culture inextricably intertwined? Brain research tells us that that we are all born for creativity because the brain is innately programmed to hold opposites in equilibrium; to keep the “big picture” in mind while attending to the parts. “The alpha and omega of life is certainly creativity”. .. Marilyn Wilhelm

“All creation is copulative. Each individual being, that indivisible dual being, is comprised of 50% DNA from the mother and 50% DNA from the father, to form a two-sided unity. The Eternal Quest is to bring the opposite sides of our being in equilibrium. Balanced thinking is a creative act. In traditional terms Reason, the Mind of Light, means masculine and feminine are united, giving birth to evolution…The mirror image of evolve is love.” M.Wilhelm
