What: InnoPower has partnered with the Recorder Media Group and Circle City Broadcasting to broadcast the 4th annual InnoPower Minority Business Conference (IMBW). The live broadcast will be the first time a Black — led business conference streams live on a major TV Network and Newspaper platform in the Midwest.

Why: “For nearly 200 years, Black media has provided the Black community a voice on social, political, and economic issues. Indianapolis is unique because of the three Black-owned media outlets that thrive in Indy,” says Emil Ekiyor, Founder of InnoPower and former NFL Player. “These media outlets are assets for the region, and they champion culture, equity, equality, justice, and economics for all. We are excited about this partnership and how the live broadcast will help inspire Black Hoosiers and encourage Black professionals to see Central Indiana as a destination.”

“At 127 years old, the Recorder Media Group, which comprises the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper and Indiana Minority Business Magazine, believes it is more important than ever to speak on the Black experience with a different tone and optics. The conference showcases Black Excellence from the viewpoint of individual accomplishment, overcoming difficulties, and innovation. We are proud to be part of this groundbreaking collaboration.” Said Robert Shegog, President and CEO of Recorder Media Group.

“We at Circle City Broadcasting, parent company of WISH-TV and WNDY, take pride in providing our viewers with more in-depth reporting on multicultural stories and underserved communities,” said DuJuan McCoy, Owner, President, and CEO of Circle City Broadcasting. “In 2019, WISH-TV’s Multicultural Reporter, Katiera Winfrey, was the first and only fully dedicated reporter in the state of Indiana, and purportedly in America, specifically hired to cover these communities. Katiera and WISH-TV’s leadership in Black and multicultural storytelling exemplifies the need and our commitment to ensure that all perspectives are heard on our platforms.

When: Thursday June 16th and Friday June 17th from 9:30 am — 2:30 pm
