1 day Fast 40 times………..
Fasting is a spiritual discipline practiced across cultures and religions for ages and requires one to disconnect from worldly needs and focus entirely on spiritual growth. As Christians fasting is important as it draws our hearts closer to God’s love and helps us to become more spiritually powerful and in control of our fleshly cravings rather than allowing them to control us.
In 2021, I undertook a 40-day fast, unaware of the profound revelations awaiting me .The true depth of this experience would only be unveiled to me through the insightful pages of the book “Fasting Simplified” by Apostle Moses Mukisa, the leader of the Worship Harvest Movement.
In his book Ap Mo as we like to call him not only clarified the nuances of fasting but also shed light on the various types that exist. In particular, he delved into the profound significance of a 40-day fast, as exemplified in the bible by Jesus and Moses they fasted for an astounding 40 days and 40 nights.
A 40 day fast involves a continuous abstention from food and water for an extended period. On the other hand, a 1-day fast is when one forgoes food for a period of 24 hours. What I had initially perceived as a 40-day fast — what I discovered was that my endeavour was, in fact, a series of 1-day fasts strung together.
The realization hit me like a revelation. What I thought was an extended period of continuous fasting turned out to be a succession of individual 24-hour abstentions from food. Yet, this subtle shift in perspective marked the beginning of an incredible spiritual transformation.
Over the course of those 40 days, the curtain started to rise over my actual life’s mission. The realisation that I was called to ministry of making actual disciples struck me like a tidal wave. As the days passed, I realised how deeply ministry is my primary goal and purpose in life. Even though I was tithing consistently, serving in a variety of roles, and actively participating in my church, there was an insatiable want for more. My heart cried out for more meaningful interactions with God, for real proof of His compassion, and for a closer relationship with His Word. In addition to additional the supernatural, I desired more and more that many people would come to know Him intimately and lead lives marked by genuine significance I wanted to be an Ambassador for Christ and represent Him wherever I went. God had laid the scripture 2 Corinthians 5:20
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
It therefore not came as surprise that when we started the first missional community under Worship Harvest Germany. By 2023 Christ Ambassadors MC has grown to Birth 8 more Missional communities.
This transformative journey birthed Christ Ambassadors MC under Worship Harvest Germany, now expanding to 8 more Missional communities by 2023. Stepping into a life of significance, starting a missional community, and eventually planting a church wouldn’t have been my choice if my decisions were driven by mere earthly desires.
Focusing on spiritual matters reshaped my perspective, erasing fear and enabling me to pursue what truly mattered to God. His love for people ignited my passion to impact lives positively. This journey stands as a testament to the transformative power of fasting, spiritual insight, and alignment with one’s divine calling.
As I journey forward, I carry the lessons learned and the inspiration gained, thankful for the guidance shaping my spiritual path.
