If you check out the standings for goals and you see Harry Kane having twenty seven goals for Tottenham this season you’d bet your house that Tottenham were challenging City for the title at the moment or they were leading the way in the league table, but it’s far from that, way far from that if you ask me.

Tottenham are a team with huge talent and potential at their disposal and for some reason it’s just not been their season as a group and they don’t look like a team that wants to fight for trophies. This shows when you look back at their season and see games like their Champions league Round of 16 tie against AC Milan where they were knocked out of the competition and some really abject performances in the league like their losses home and away to Arsenal, Bournemouth at home, away to a struggling Leicester side and THAT 6–1 thrashing on Tyneside from the hands of inform Newcastle United.

If you went to see the game, I hope y’ll have been refunded?

It hasn’t been going great for Tottenham this season as they are currently out of the top four race with their recent loss coming against Aston Villa on Saturday which ended 2–1 to the Villa. That loss meant that Spurs wouldn’t be playing in the champions league next season which would be a huge setback for a club who has been in the Champions league consistently in the past and even got to the final of the competition in what was arguably their best season of recent memory in terms of performance.

This season has been one to forget but there’s been on shining light in the Spurs team and that would of course be their main man, Harry Kane.

HARRY KANE = GOAL MACHINE.

He is undoubtedly by far the only Spurs player who seems to be getting involved in games wether it been putting in a shift defensively from time to time, chipping in with important assists and of course banging in goals for the club even if they don’t guarantee a win or even a draw at times, he’s always the stand out player in virtually almost every game.

Harry Kane.

Tottenham’s leading marksman has been one of their most consistent players since his breakout through season of the 2014/2015 campaign where he registered twenty one goals from thirty four appearances and from their Kane hasn’t stop scoring goals and has always been worth a shout when we are talking about some of the best strikers in England and all over Europe.

Why?…

Kane is one of the best around at putting the ball in the back of the net easily with both feet, he is technically gifted, has amazing positioning due to his ability to sense chances and is also dangerous in the air and from the spot. He’s every manager’s dream striker because he possesses so much; gives a team so much going forward and also isn’t afraid to do the ugly stuff defensively.

But wait, that’s not all…

Harry Kane is so good he can pop up in numerous areas in the attacking third and at times drops into a number 10 role where he picks out his team mates with lovely accuracy which leads to a big chance or a goal because of how his passes sort of split stubborn defenses into two.

The main beneficiary of this attribute would definitely be Son Heung-Min who is also a very dangerous player on his day but hasn’t gotten up to speed in terms of consistency this season. Kane and Son can literally tear teams apart on their own and that’s why the duo are ranked number one for most goal contributions in the Premier league.

Haaland and de Bruyne: typing…

RECORD BREAKER.

Alan Shearer, he’s coming!

This season would be an unforgettable season for Harry Kane on a personal note because he must have achieved some of his personal career objectives this term.

The Englishman is currently Tottenham Hotspur’s all time top scorer surpassing Jimmy Greaves previous record of 266 goals. He is currently on 276 goals for the club and that has the potential to be improved even further this season.

His 210 goals in the Premier league is ranked the second for most goals scored in the English top flight behind Alan Shearer (260). That would be one record he would be eyeing to break in the next couple of seasons.

On an International note…

Harry Kane honored as record goalscorer for England.

Harry Kane in a England shirt is just as potent in front of goal as he is for his club and as such the England skipper also became the country’s all time top goal scorer surpassing football legend, Wayne Rooney’s 53 goals for The Three Lions.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR KANE?

With the season coming to an end and the dust already settling after Tottenham’s top four aspiration went up in smoke last Saturday. Kane, 29, could well and truly be eyeing a move away from the club when the transfer window opens in the summer mainly because of the fact he would like love to play Champions league football next season and because he would relish an opportunity to win silverware as he hasn’t won any so far in his career which would definitely be a huge dent in a very sterling career when he eventually looks back.

Kane contract ends in the 2024 and Tottenham would be looking to cash in on an opportunity to sell the Englishman who doesn’t seem like he would like to extend his deal at the club with the looks of things. He could be one of the major players available in the market come summer of 2023 and a couple of big clubs would be looking to get his signature.

His priority is probably to still remain in the Premier league and try to smash the all time record of Alan Shearer and of course to win trophies which he’s surely laser focused on checking off his book-it list.

Clubs looking to be in the race for England’s captain include:

Bayern Munich:

The German Champions have certainly not filled the void star striker Robert Lewandowski left at the club when he left for Catalan giants, Barcelona. Thomas Tuchel along with the board would be looking to get in a world class striker in the summer and they are finally prepared to spend big this time.

Bayern Munich have not played to their best in the Bundesliga this season because of the lack of a proper number 9 to score their goals.

You can check out my article on Bayern to understand better. Link below.

Harry Kane’s skillset would prove to be all they need in their setup to get them firing again and they would be looking to get him however it takes.

Paris Saint-Germain:

The Parisians look like they are going to be without the Lionel Messi next season after it was reported numerously that the Argentine would be leaving Paris this summer.

The board would be looking to replace him in the attack and no doubt Harry Kane would be one player they would be keeping an eye on to be Messi’s successor in an already talented PSG attack which includes their club top scorer Kylian Mbappé.

Kane could form a very dangerous partnership with the Frenchman if he is to end up making the switch to the French capital.

Manchester United:

Now I know their status in next season’s Champions league isn’t confirmed yeg but…

This could by far be the team that ticks every box Kane would be looking for in a new team especially with the fact that he would still be in the Premier league. Manchester United could well be the best option that suits the bill for Harry Kane.

A team also lacking a proper number 9 after the departure of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo in January, ten Hag would be looking to finally get a potent striker for the long term in his setup.

A team with a manager like ten Hag who has already gotten a trophy for the club would surely look like an attractive move for the player especially with the fact that he would now be playing with better players around him that would create a hat full of chances for him unlike Spurs where he has to create opportunities for himself sometimes.

It would be a move that would favour both the club and the player in the long run. It just makes sense!

AFTER TWELVE SEASONS.

It could be the end of the road for Kane’s star studded time in North London for Spurs. It is probably the best time in his career to look elsewhere for trophies so a move would definitely be on the cards this summer but you never with these things.

What is certain would be the fact that he would go down as a legend for the club and that’s sealed. We just have to keep an eye out for what would happen in the summer.
