GSPO pharmacy owner has seat on high-profile committee addressing opioid abuse

Concerned with the rapidly escalating frequency of scholastic athletes abusing prescription opiates, NJSIAA (New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association) has created a high-profile committee to identify possible solutions. The association invited GSPO to fill a seat on this Medical Advisory committee, and in response, Bill Ashnault of Twin City Pharmacy in South Plainfield, has been designated to provide expert input from the perspective of an independent pharmacy owner. Joining Bill will be a range of New Jersey-based education and healthcare sector representatives, all of whom will focus on development of policies to reduce risks associated with athletes and others who are prescribed opioids.
GSPO is proud to be involved in this important initiative, and to help reinforce the vital role independent pharmacies can play in addressing opioid abuse.
