If you haven’t figured it out from my name, I’m a big fan of egg whites. That’s because egg whites helped me lose 10 lbs last year without even trying. Which led to my friends asking me a LOT of questions about egg whites.

Question: “Why egg whites and not another protein, say chicken?”
That’s a good one. Why pick egg whites when there are so many protein-packed pals like chicken around?
Well, let me tell you, it’s like choosing between a classic pair of sneakers and those fancy high-heels. Both have their time and place!
Egg whites are my go-to for a few reasons.
- First off, they’re incredibly convenient. Crack ’em open, and they’re ready to go — no defrosting or lengthy prep time like you might have with chicken. Plus, their mild flavor makes them a chameleon in the kitchen. They can slide into a sweet dish or a savory one without missing a beat.
- Egg whites are budget friendly. You get high-quality protein without the high price tag that often comes with meats like chicken or beef.
