This Letter From Heaven
Some thoughts on loss/grief from the POV of the person who died

Your hand in mine
church bells ring
in the blue sky birds sing
It’s just a matter of time
til we start a life together
just you and me forever.
That’s how it goes when the right people meet
soon to be followed by the sound of little feet.
I want to let you know, I remember it all
and since I answered the call
I ask you to stand tall.
Just a little thing I learned:
the fairest thing about life is that
it’s unfair for everyone.
It’s hard to believe that I am gone.
Today is my day
it’s my turn to go
the reason for this I don’t know
gone are the days for us to run and play.
Gone are the days for walks on the beach
now those days are out of reach
there was so much more for me to teach.
Gone are the days to just sit and be
gone, gone, gone- just like me.
Just a little thing I learned:
The fairest thing about life is that
it’s unfair for everyone.
It’s starting to feel like I should be gone.
If you ever miss me, know you don’t need
to look far
You need not worry or be at war.
Look closely and you will surly see
I am in you and you are in me.
I’ll always be your light
in the deep, dark night
you truth in a sea of lies
the shoulder on which you can always cry.
You can try with all your might
to cover every trace
just know that I am in a better place.
Just a little thing I learned:
the fairest thing about life is that
it’s unfair for everyone.
It’s time for goodbye, since I am gone, gone , gone.
