I see a common thread among your evaluations of the three apps. Simplicity. Sometimes the best apps have fewer features. Of the three you cited, the pause wins!
It was especially interesting to read your evaluation of the Hindenburg app given your journalism background and the fact that the app targets journalists. You might consider presenting more of the user’s perspective on this one. How are the features helpful to a journalist? Why is a one-handed swipe helpful?
