Our team has been working on the designs of the product and have the first version ready for presenting:
We are working close with several saddle makers and horse riders to make sure our pad follows best equestrian traditions and fits nicely within the regular equipment for any rider. We also understand that bright colors might be too visually heavy on some horses, so in the first batch we have selected only neutral colors.
Currently planned color options are: Black, Navy blue, Dark brown.
Also, we received questions regarding internal parts. Here is a picture with the internal structure of the sensors:
There are no significant metal parts, all sensors are made from a special patented thread and other parts, as connectors will be flexible and generally unnoticeable. As mentioned in the Q&A, the product is planned to have two separate layers. Base layer with all the sensors that will be doing data collecting can be seen in the picture above and the outer layer will be made of comfortable and durable fabric to both protect the sensors and provide the best experience for the horse and the rider.
Upper layer and sublayer will be removable and washable. And since the inner layer (sensors + electronics) will be protected from weather elements it is not planned to be washable or immersed in water.
