Double My Rate Overnight

I was reading this story https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/06/companies-worry-more-about-access-to-software-developers-than-capital.html about how software developers are more valuable than money and it made me think.

I believe developers’ billing rates are lower than they should be, specially if you consider the value we deliver to businesses.

What if we start an online movement and set a date to double our billing rates/salaries and if our demands are not met, we walk out :)

Would it work? Can it work? I think the only way it works is if we all collectively agree to the idea/concept. Most companies will have no choice but to accept. After all, we are more valuable than money ;)
