I knew nothing about 3d printing a week ago but thanks to a local group of and volunteers, they helped me get started. I don’t want to write a lot, so here is a quick summary, if you want to make your own.

My printer — Creality Ender 3 Pro

Filament — PLA 1.75mm or PLA+ 1.75mm

Software — Ultimaker Cura

I use the RC3 version of the PURSA shield and I use the stacked version so I can print 4 at once.

Here is the cura project file. Here is my cura profile for the Creality Ender 3 Pro — I print at low quality but I can do 4 shield in about 9 or so hours and they seem to be good enough.

The Visor

For the visor piece, I laminate pouches.

Laminator — Saturn 3i

Laminate Paper — Nuova

Bottom Piece Problem

I noticed that the bottom piece kept falling out, so I used a 3D pen and melted some plastic in the holes.

Head Strap

I used a 3/4 inch elastic band and cut slits in it then connected to the head piece… You can cut your own slits to get the perfect fit.

Thank you to all that contributed to my GoFundMe campaign — any leftover money will be donated to a reputable charity.
