Early demise of the whole child approach in pre-schools
- Preschool is now featured on the global agenda of United Nations. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals says, “Quality early education provides children with basic cognitive and language skills and fosters emotional development.” The U.N. also a clear vision that “By 2030, all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care, and pre-primary education so that they are ready for primary education.” Good news is that preschool has now caught the world’s attention. The challenge is to ensure that we get it right.
- One way to do that is by looking for areas of agreement in the science of learning.
