I. Love. This.

And I agree with every fibre of my being!

I used to live across the street from a corner store. Sadly, not anymore. If I was sick, I would put on my slippers and traipse across the street in my housecoat for Nyquil. If I was at home for the day and didn’t feel the need to get dressed, I would cross the street in my housecoat to get some Doritos and a Diet Coke. In the summer it was my satin kimono, and in the winter it was my fluffy red terry-cloth robe my husband bought me for Christmas one year. And boots. We must not forget the boots. Slippers can be a tad chilly when the snow falls into them.

My best girlfriend also lived down the back alley. She would call me at 3:00 AM after a night at the bar, and intice me to come over with nachos she had brought home from 7-Eleven. Would I head down in my slippers and housecoat? Hell yes!! Why would I choose to put on some sensible flats, a pair of Levi’s and a t-shirt at 3:00 AM to eat nachos with a friend?

Because a housecoat is so much more comfortable.

Let them laugh. I, for one, will always support your trend-setting need for comfort! 💕
