at first blush this feels, intuitively, true. and if it is, it means that we cannot hope to use token economics design as we understand it today to build sustainable systems
but then I think of the bee: it has an incentive to participate in the colony, to expend its energies in favour of survival
so clearly this cannot be true, unless you also say bee behaviour is competitive, or that bees are not incentivised but compulsed, perhaps because they don’t have volition in the same way humans do
but I feel at that point we’re just arguing over semantics
