Make America great again

Yes, I do not know why this short message is highly popular nowadays. Perhaps it is all because of Donald Trump.

This early morning, I read Lee Iacocca’s autobiography and found:

That was music to his [Reagan’s] ears. He gave me a big grin and said, “That’s beautiful, Lee. That’s what made America great.”

I did recognise one thing and it is still mystery for me. Why do people always speak in past tensed when they refer about the greatness of America.

Why do (and did) they feel and think that America is (or was?) not great again?

I am not a citizen of US and I know nothing about its politics, democracy or its military.

But I know one great man, Alexander Hamilton, and people like him is what made/make America great.
