theoretically, yes. that’s correct. in practice, considering the massive existence of legacy from mainframe to mini computers, to client server, to legacy SaaS, and more monolithic implementations — that’s not happening.
new generation companies may benefit from this, we are already seeing them begin in that direction, but even if that happens — without a compatible ecosystem it ain’t flying.
