I think it’s a little bit sad to see that you’re (#2) helping the author in his strive to “teach” people that there are inherent differences in men and women that affect their ability to work as part of a group, even if you’re actually in favour of what he calls “female” attributes.
Also, I think your #3 puts words in his mouth that deviate from his actual message. He wasn’t stating that female workers are inherently worse at software engineering, but rather that they’re (allegedly) less likely to seek that type of career due to biological factors, among others.
Other than that, an interesting read for sure! :) I very much agree that postings like Damore’s make for a hostile work environment, and shouldn’t be accepted.
