Lying on my back, I’d strap my leg in and lie there for eight hours (usually in four hour bursts — I had to keep myself sane) and let the machine slowly bend and straighten my leg.
My Broken Body

Oh man elizabeth. What an insane collection of things you’ve had to deal with. So fantastic that you’ve persevered. The CPM machine in particular I can relate to. I had microfracture surgery on my hip in 2009 and like you had to do 8 hours a day, for 6 weeks. (interestingly, cycling, which you’ve turned to, was the culprit in my case). My strategy was to do it while sleeping. Which basically means you do it while “sleeping”. It was just brutal.
