When you feel the air and still can’t breathe!
I met her today in the hospital. Her pain was evident when she climbed down the steps. She suffers from vitamin deficiency.
None of her body muscle is able to contract and relax properly. Even a small movement would require our muscles to function at its best and now in my eyes she is suffering as her bones and muscles are tied to inertia.
A few months back we have walked down together to the same clinic for our son and we were holding each other so close that even an ounce of air couldn’t get between us. Now, it looks like as though the air took the form of an human and found its way very easily.
She looked very tired, her eyes were desperately in need of some rest. she rested her head against a chair in front of her and I was left handicapped on not being able to lend my shoulders for her.
I should have booked her the appointment, I should have drove her down to the hospital, I should have sensed that her lips dries up quickly and would need water, I should have broke the seal of the bottle before she used for I know she may not be able to do that for her. I’m supposed to be responsible for her well being and now I have become the reason for her illness.
I wish I am there to take care of you through the clock, Elaine!
