You may note from my avatar pic that I am a lover of black and white…and the shades in between. ;) The particular movie you make reference to probably does have aome guised racial highlights. Its an overproduced, over digitalized rendition of a PURE classic whose author had no intentions of racial suggestions.
I see your point though on the movie…and truthfully, I think modern producers altogether need to be more aware of how they present characters through the modern digital art….digitalism is so available and being upgraded every day to the point where the REAL LIFE aspect of any story, especially classic ones, is diffused and the focus is on tantalizing the audience instead with unrealistic characters….and they believe all the digital effects will mask any racial suggestions. They can do better. They once did. Remember when big acreen movies had real heartwarming messages and themes?
Dont worry….just be glad you’re not the one feeding thw giant troll of misperception. ;)
