In our previous releases, we made an effort to provide much more information when testing applications that were using WebRTC to provide multimedia capabilities. However, in these applications, as the number of browsers used in the tests grow, the information was not properly presented.
We have made some small but important improvements in the visualization of the executions when using several browsers, so we have released a new release: 2.3.0.
Specifically, we have added a new tab in the test case view where you can see the files generated as part of an execution filtered by each browser session they…

A new minor version of ElasTest has been released: 2.2.0
This new version brings improvements in SuT controllability through EIM (ElasTest Instrumentation Manager)
EIM is capable of adding packet loss or CPU stress. For this purpose, the test container has two environment variables that contain the API of the EIM and the Agent ID of the SuT (id with which it is registered in the EIM after being instrumented). The test can call the EIM to establish packet loss or CPU stress. It can also call to delete them.
On the other hand, the ElasTest plugin for Jenkins is also…

A new minor version is here with some bug fixes and, the most prominent being a new testing functionality for videoconferencing applications: QoE metrics calculation for video.
Today there are many media applications, whether videoconference applications like OpenVidu or on-demand content streaming like Netflix. Assessing the quality of these applications requires measuring the quality of experience (QoE) of the user watching the video or participating in a videoconference session. …
After several months of hard work we bring you version 2.0.0 of ElasTest with many new features, but allow us to make a spoiler: Kubernetes support is here!
In addition to the support for Kubernetes that we have commented, it is worth mentioning other 3 main features: the enhancements in the GUI especially in the execution sections, the ability to start browsers in AWS, and the new functionalities for manual testing with TestLink such as the Crossbrowser.
On October 9th, our Project Coordinator has been invited to take part to the STAMP General Assembly meeting taking place in Madrid. This is part of our joint efforts to bring a rich testing ecosystem that might boost the performance of the team. These efforts started in 2018 with a first meeting to try to bring STAMP CAMP tool into the ElasTest (more on this in a moment).
Among others, we’re doing integrations with two different tools that focus on different purposes. On the one side, you can use Descartes, the STAMP mutation testing tool, in your Java projects, and…
Atos Worldline provides one of the use cases that are helping in the validation of ElasTest. The use case involves the Mobile Competence Centre of Worldline which offers to its customer’s services that cover the full development cycle of mobile applications including testing. This use case is unique and very important for us because it provides real industry requirements about which are the key points that ElasTest must provide in order for web and mobile applications to fulfill the market demands. Including, among others functional and non-functional testing, performance, and security testing, as well as device compatibility.
Atos Worldline wants…

Testing software has been a concept introduced a few decades ago, being it one of the most important steps to delivering software whose behaviour is not subject to change, since all possible outcomes would have been evaluated. In this sense, tested software delivers great value to end-users who acquire a product and know what to expect in a software that should meet their needs. Nevertheless, testing strategies have been often avoided by developers and managers because of the added cost and time to software development, which incurs into the so-called…
We kept introducing some improvements during these weeks and we have also fixed some bugs. All this is available in a new version: 1.5.0.
One of the improvements introduced is the ability to download files from the context of the browser in TestLink executions. In the previous version we introduced the ability to send files to the context, so it was logical to also have the ability to download.
Clicking on the button (see upper right in the previous image) will open a modal window where we can enter the full path where the file is within the context of…
