On women and movies and sex

I was watching a movie recently and saw the tired “man loves sex, woman withholds sex” joke for the umpteenth time, and I’m sick of it. Only because men write the movies does this persist.

I have personally yet to meet a man (or any partner, I’ll be fair that I haven’t slept with a woman) who keeps up with my sex drive. And women I know love sex. I swear, if women wrote the movies, the stereotype would go the exact opposite way.

To re-write the common scene:

Door slams shut as Matilda enters the apartment she and her partner share, Matilda walks into the living room and drops her work bag.

Matilda: Hey, what was the best part of your day?

Kyle: Lounging on couch Oh you know, it was whatever.

Matilda: … So … want to have sex?

Kyle: Nah, not really.

Matilda (internally): ##$#@*#&$^^@^#
