“You will regret this”

This is a learning opportunity. In the 1030s Patrick Fermor walked across Europe (a great book). What he said about Eastern Europe is

“this is a place the industrial revolution bypassed.”

Shortly after Mr. Fermor’s walk, the second world war erupted. Followed by Soviet style socialism.

If you watch CNBC as I do on occasion, you’ll see that when Jim Cramer shows a map of European stock markets, most of Eastern Europe is greyed out. The reason is that they don’t have stock market. Eastern Europe is pre-capitalist. What you are seeing is a world without Wall Street. And just where do the people wish to live? In Germany a modern capitalist county.

And exactly what is it that the Occupy Wall Street crowd wish for? A world without Wall Street . . . why don’t they move to Eastern Europe and leave us Capitalists in peace?
