In assembling cable & wire harness, cutting the wire with the help of a particular wire-cutting machine to the desired length is the very first step. Later the wires are stripped to expose the core of the cables. Following is to fit the wire with any required terminals or connector housings that come in many different sizes and specifications. Last of all, involving either a workbench or assembly board, the wires assembled into a harness, which is set up according to design specifications.

With just two wires with central terminals on end, the wire harness is very simple, whereas, others are pretty much complex as they involve multiple cables, connectors, and terminals. There are many factors to consider depending on the type of harness required, including conductor size, stranding size, conductor color, and more. It is beneficial to understand how your wire harness gets designed and manufactured as it allows your team to anticipate and understand any issues that could occur down the road. Not only this, but it also assists your team with a timeline for determining when the product’s wiring will get completed.

As each method requires a different process, wire assemblies can be made by hand or machine, which consists of routing and inserting wires through sleeves, taping the cables, clamps, crimping terminals onto wires, fastening strands with tape, or cable ties and more. As most of the processes are done by hand or semi-automatic machinery, there are so many intricate steps involved in designing and manufacturing

Wire harnesses are small and comfortable, which makes them easy-to-use and conduct. However, cable wire harnesses often need custom-designed shapes in addition to all the other elements like mechanical fastening, sheathing, and over-molded connectors, grommets or strain reliefs. Even the most complex of wire harness, PCC has the capacity to custom design.
