The Power of Emotions on Longevity
Imagine the existence of an accurate method to test how healthy you will be in the future, how long you will stay young, and how long you will live. The ancient method of Ayurveda has been using this testing method for thousands of years. Ayurveda uses daily emotions and thoughts like a barometer for a person’s future health and longevity. You may be familiar with these famous quotes:
“What you are going to be tomorrow, you are becoming today!” (John C. Maxwell)
“What you think, you become” (Buddha)
In Ayurveda, a person can´t be physically healthy if he or she suffers from emotional disharmony. Negative emotions like anxiety, anger, and sadness can affect the psychological as well as the physical well-being of a person. These emotional and mental imbalances can manifest as diseases in the body revealing psychological problems, depression, and anxiety.
These issues can also manifest as physical problems like hormone imbalances, skin and hair issues, weight conditions, chronic diseases like diabetes, coronary issues, and premature aging. Emotionally balanced people with positive attitudes, thoughts, and emotions will enjoy a state of physical and mental well-being.
Emotions have a significant effect on how we live, how long we live, how long we stay young, and how satisfied and happy we are. The effect of our emotions can also influence our physical body, our appearance, and our health.
To check the future of your emotional and physical health status, you can try this short Quiz
The Quiz: Your future health state
How healthy do you think you’ll be in the future? Test yourself just by asking the following questions:
1. How often do you feel gratitude, love, and happiness?
2. Are you open/trustful/ positive to new experiences, people, opportunities, and yourself?
3. Are you able to move on and let the negative thoughts and worries go?
4. How often do you meditate and practice yoga?
5. How often do you feel anger, anxiety, depression, confusion, guilt, or sadness?
6. How often are you judgmental about yourself or other people?
7. How often do you worry about the future or have thoughts about negative experiences in the past?
By answering these questions, you can find out if you tend to get caught in a loop of negative thoughts and emotions. The results of this quiz are simple: positive emotions have a positive influence on one’s health, and negative emotions have a negative impact on one’s health. The more positive your thoughts and feelings are (questions # 1, 2, 3), the better the chance you have to be healthier and live longer. If your thoughts and emotions are often negative (questions # 5, 6, 7), the higher your risk of having future emotional/physical health issues. Practicing meditation and yoga (question # 4) can be a positive supplement that helps to influence the mind, control thoughts and emotions, get into a state of positive emotions, and achieve a perfect psychic and physical balance.
When you can answer questions 1, 2, 3 with “every day at any time,” question 4 with “every day,” and questions 5, 6, 7 with “never” you have a great chance for longevity and prolonged youth. If you are not someone who can answer these question this way, you need to integrate meditation and yoga in your daily routine. With time, you will see positive changes in your attitude, habits, and thoughts.
