When You Can’t Be the Person The Internet Wants You to Be
Felicia C. Sullivan

Not the first of your writing work that’s brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for your smart words and sharp insight and for the boldness to share them. Your piece made me think of an old proverb, origins unknown to me:

“The mouth should have three gatekeepers.
Is it true?
Is it kind?
And is it necessary?”

(You could easily substitute “keyboard” or “smartphone” for “mouth.”)

— With hugs and a knowing squeeze of the hand from one bus passenger to another
