What It’s Like to Be Invisible

I started a conversation with a couple of men at an EdTech networking event. After a few minutes I saw my colleague walking by and introduced him. One of the men was the organizer of the networking event. He said he had to talk to some people and as he was leaving shook hands with my colleague and the other man. He simply skipped me and walked off with no acknowledgment that I was part of the conversation. I can see how an invisibility cloak is a cool thing in Harry Potter, but it’s not ok to throw it on unsuspecting women at networking events.
