Postwar is Boring
SyriaHaving now lived through the run up to several wars, I can observe a pattern in the public consciousness. The populace gets extremely excited at the prospect of a war and all the unpredictable outcomes of the event, but then are utterly, manifestly bored at the events which follow the war. Civilian casualties, new governments, societies in total upheaval, all of this means very little to us in comparison to the excitement of missile fire or planes launching from aircraft carriers with reporters…j1 min read
