When you watch a movie where Hugh Jackman is in the cast, it’s hard to miss him. You can tell who he is because of the wolverine beard. Ever since Hugh has been seen with the wolverine beard, it’s become something that he is known for.

We’re not talking about a beard that appeared in one movie and became iconic overnight. If you have seen the most recent X-Men movies, you will have seen the different ways this beard has looked as Hugh Jackman portrayed Logan. Have you ever desired your wolverine beard? If so keep reading because we will be telling you how to grow and maintain this facial hair choice.

1. Your Beard Must Be 1–2 Inches Long

Look at the term: Wolverine Beard. The second word is very important because, for this to work, you must have a full beard. If you are not able to grow a full beard then you will have to research ways you can grow a normal beard.

Where did 1–2 inches come from? Depending on what movie you are using as inspiration for growing your wolverine beard, the length will be different. Our advice is that you let your beard get in this range before you do anything else.

2. Cut The Mustache To Stubble

Just like the first step, depending on which movie you are using as a reference for what the final product will look like, there will be different steps for every person. If you are looking for a good measurement to shoot for as the average then you want to use the quarter-inch setting on the trimmer you are using.

The good news is any trimmer you decide to use should work fine even if you don’t have trimmers that are meant to leave nothing but stubble.

3. The Soul Patch And Chin Must Be Shaved

If you don’t have the chin shaved then the sideburns are not going to look correct. However, the gap of the wolverine beard is not as wide as normal. That is why the gap should be between one to two inches.

As easy as this may sound, it’s not as easy to pull off. If you want to do this correctly then you might want to purchase a beard shaping tool.

Once you have measured it right then use any razor of your choice to remove the hair. If you choose then you could use a beard trimmer or stubble. The decision is yours.

4. Make Sure The Cheeks and Neckline Are Aligned

The final step is the cheek line and the neckline are aligned. This can be done freestyle if you have a calm hand. If you worry that you might mess up then it is recommended to use a tool that helps with beard shaping.

You don’t want to remove all the hair between the jawline and the jawbone. If you want to achieve the best results possible then you want to leave one to two inches of hair under the jawline.

When you are going to be cutting hair on the neckline, measure it by putting your index finger and middle finger on the highest spots of your Adam’s apple and start cutting from there.

If you follow these steps then you will be able to grow the wolverine beard. It might take a while to prepare and then maintain once it does grow. The measurements might be different depending on what movie you are modeling your beard afterward but these measurements are the best starting points you could choose.
