  • Backed by many officials in the state, Christie beat out unpopular governor Jon Corzine comfortably 49 to 45.

  • Christie has been renowned for his work during Hurricane Sandy, where he helped many civilians regain their lives and devoted much of his time rebuilding the destruction laden Jersey Shore.
  • He has had his fair share of scandals as well. In 2013, he was allegedly part of a traffic scandal that sent drivers entering New York City via George Washington bridge into a massive traffic jam.
