Mercatus student fellowships available, deadlines loom

Three really great paid opportunities for students are available at the Mercatus Center. But deadlines are approaching, so apply now!

Google policy fellowship

In partnership with Google, we are offering a summer fellowship to work directly with Mercatus’s technology policy team. We cover the full range of tech policy issues, from spectrum and IP to new, emerging technologies like drones, Bitcoin, and virtual reality. More information is available at Google’s site and in their blog post. The fellowship pays a stipend of $7,500, and the application deadline is March 25, 2016. Adam Smith fellowship

This is a one-year, competitive fellowship for graduate students attending PhD programs at any university, and in any discipline, including economics, philosophy, political science, and sociology. Smith Fellows receive a stipend and attend colloquia on the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy. It is a total award of up to $10,000 for the year. The application deadline is March 15, 2016. More information is on the Mercatus website.

Frédéric Bastiat fellowship

This fellowship is awarded to graduate students attending master’s, juris doctoral, and doctoral programs in a variety of fields including economics, law, political science, and public policy. Bastiat Fellows receive a stipend and attend colloquia on public policy. It is a total award of up to $5,000 for the year. The application deadline is April 1, 2016.
